Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of Winona Ryder gave her the name of the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz' father was editor and author along with Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's father was from a Jewish family Ryder believes she is Jewish. Uria Ryder is her younger brother. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are her half-siblings. Ryder along with her whole family moved to Mendocino County in California, when Ryder was just seven. They didn't even have electricity. Ryder was a voracious bookworm and would spend her days reading books as there was no television. Ryder, then 12, took up a place at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. Her first role was a success on the big screen in 1986 when she was 15 years young. Ryder was bullied in her high school. Her thought was that by becoming an actor, her bullying could be reduced. It didn't turn out. Still, she pursued her dream. Beetlejuice the 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first big break. Ryder continued to play successful parts in a variety of films. She received nominations for two Academy Awards one for her role as a character in The Age of Innocence (1993).
